How many people at each level would you say are left in each of the 5 Families (and any Jersey family)? How many capos, how many soldiers, how many associates?

To the site that gave me three years of enjoyment,

This place once was great. Back in '03 and for two years afterwards, there weren't many things I enjoyed doing more than coming on here and RPing. People made this site great - Alex, Damion, Freddy, Owen, Matt, Ollie...it was always the people. They weren't only phenomenal writers but they understood the way things worked and they were, above all, decent and intelligent people. MRPG was in it's golden age, people got on in OOC and RPed magnificently.

I guess where it all went wrong was when the egos began to outweigh the talent. People were giving it the big one in front of people without the ability to back it up on the in-game forums. The black gangs that turned up threw up so much controversy that the site became blighted by arguments. And then some so-called 'vets' began to big themselves up and put themselves on a pedastal they didn't deserve - they thought they were untouchable and made it their business to belittle the new guys and anyone who hadn't achieved their lofty heights.

From '06, the site's slipped and slipped. There're more egos than ever and now all anyone ever does is live in the past expecting greatness because of what they've achieved previously. It defeats the object of an RPing site where you play each character to his or her own merits. The people who have ruined this game know who they are - they're the people who like nothing more than stirring up controversy on the OOC boards, like nothing more than whining and b****ing, complain to the hills when anything goes against them. There was a time when, like the organisation we emulate, we had respect and integrity. We got hit, that was it. The way it worked.

I've had some great times on this site and it's with regret that I have closed the curtain on this chapter of my life - three years of enjoyment. Certain people during that time were great companions and people I loved chatting to. They've gone now, I never speak to them on AIM and our friendships didn't extend beyond the game. That s**ks, I regret that. But for the time I spent in contact with the people (all of whom know who they are), know this: you're wise, worldly and greatly respected as people, not just writers. I wish you all the best.

Thanks for the memories, they mean a lot.

Until the next time,

Ciarán

But ah, my foes, and oh, my friends, It gives a lovely light."

My search is really over now, I’ve found happiness within

I love you all and miss you so, and I’ll always be nearby
My body’s gone forever now, but my spirit will never die.

I read somewhere that the five families of New York now have less than 500 in and among them. I could be wrong...

The Jersey family barely exists anymore. There's like about twenty Made Men and fifty associates. They don't have any kind of foothole on Jersey anymore and nowadays the Lucchese's are settling in here.

Genovese more so than Lucchese...the Taccetta Crew was the Lucchese's main power in NJ and since they got taken down they have been active but not huge in Jersey like they used to be. Genovese runs everything there.

Lot of perks to being boss. Get to be imprisoned and under indictment.

You know, one reason I was really jazzed to play a Tony Soprano style character is because ever since I've watched the first eppy of the Sopranos I felt like I was exactly like Tony on this site. Childish, selfish, egotistical, street savvy, a person who could read people, a paranoid person, a person who always had to be the Boss. I've done a lot of s*** on this site, more than most, and throughout it all my only goal was to always be number one just like Tony Soprano. I'd kill off families and characters to prove that I hadn't lost a step, I'd play folks to make sure I got what I needed, and at the end of the day there wasn't a motherf***er on the site that was ever able to bring me down when I was a boss.

In the last episode of the Sopranos Tony visits Uncle Junior and the two have a really strained conversation where Tony tries to get Uncle Junior to give him some money, and Junior's memory is gone so he doesn't remember anything. I still don't understand the ending of the show, but I understood the meaning of the last episode. When Junior doesn't recognize what Tony is saying about owning all of Jersey, at one point, you can see Tony's eyes become moist. The man realized that all the time he spent trying to achieve what he achieved , it was all largely for nothing. Looking at Junior showed him that. Honestly, that's the way I feel looking back on my time here. I tried hard to win this game, but now looking back, was there really a point? Sure you can argue that this is a game you play just like you'd a play a Playstation or X-Box or something, but it really isn't. The people on here devote much more time to MRPG than they would to some little console, and the fact that they try to lie and pretend that they can but don't want to to cover it up just shows how addicted to coming here they really are.

The way I see it, you gotta remember the good times but move on. There's a hell of a lot more positive ways of spending your time than on here, and the sooner all you fools who log on daily and check out everything understand that the better off you'll be. Ya'll won't listen of course, but I figured I at least owed it to the players I've spent so mucj time with to say it.

Thanks to all the people who genuinely had my back on here and helped me have a good time on this site. I'm talking about the folks that had my back when I was down and out and the site hated me, not the little d***hoppers who'd spring on my nuts when I was successful and everyone was scared of me.

Peace out MRPG.

Genovese more so than Lucchese...the Taccetta Crew was the Lucchese's main power in NJ and since they got taken down they have been active but not huge in Jersey like they used to be. Genovese runs everything there.

OOC: As Gennaro...

Well where I'm at it's all Luccheses. Then again, Martin Taccetta lives in my town and I know him personally. lol. He just got busted again in some online gambling ring.

You'd think the mob would try to keep things on the down low, especially since the FBI knows their f***ing nicknames.

They could do all of their business in underground caves and the Feds would still find a way to put them in prison.

They have been laying low a lot recently. The surprising thing too is the F.B.I. still considers them to be the most powerful OC group in the U.S., and that the Russians, Chinese, Jamaicans etc etc don't have the connections they have. Which is true, they won't be able to get those types of connections in the U.S. now a days.

Mob's almost f***ed out of everything, seeing how now the FBI can access their cell phones and use the mic to record what they are saying.

See you cannot say how may because there ain't a f***ing exact number, you think the bosses go up to the FBI or what ever and say I got a hundred of these and 20 of that? Yeah there are a lot of guy's who stick on the down low and don't try to make mistakes, I'm sure the crimes families still have a lot of members because who woulden't want to be a gangster. The New York Families have built themselves up to a extent that they still ''control'' the majorty organised crime In NY...........so people say. they now have learned not to be like they were back In the onld day's and are more low key. Take the montreal mafia for example, for many years It had Bonnano connections and was never In the news then bam, 90 people arrested In raids, and It took them years to nail Rizzuto himself.

No. You're wrong. With all the freedom's the FBI is allowed when it comes to surveillance + rats, they pretty much know everybody. And don't tell me they've learned and they're "low key". That's a blatant lie. I see the Mafia around me in every day life and they are certainly not "low key". They flaunt their wealth and power like CEO's of legit businesses.

My God, all the members of the Five Families are like 60 years old.

Edit: And right now, the Russians are way more powerful than the Italians. Most of these Russian guys are ex-KGB and military people. They're smart, educated, cunning, violent, and whatnot. They're involved in every type of illegal business, bar none, and they're spread out all over the world, not just centered in America. They've got people in Columbia, Brazil, Argentina, Cuba, Mexico, the US, Canada, South Africa, the Middle East, China, Japan, Australia, and virtually all of Europe.

Actually most of hte people in the five families are in their 30's and 40's. You only see a list of made guys, most guys wont get made because it's basically a free ticke to prison. No they're definitely not stronger than the Italians, they still kick up to them in NY and NJ, and as far as the rest of the world goes, N'Drangheta the top Italian group in Italy controls 80% of the cocaine market in Italy, with connections to numerous places...the italian government is under their control along with Cosa Nostra.

The Russians also aren't even very organized at all. They don't have a commission such as the Italians, so they don't have the organization so they only operate in smaller cells. The Sicilians launder money for the Russians, and mediate deals between Russia, China, Albania etc etc. It's impossible for the Russians to control in 20 years or less what the Italians took over in 100-200 years in both America and Italy. It simply is not, cannot and will not happen.

Sicilian Cosa Nostra: Cosa Nostra is the principal organization inside Italian O.C.; in Sicily, its original place, it has about 6.000 “made members” and 60.000 “associates”; according to D.I.A and secret services, sicilian crime families and crews are present in United States, Canada, Venezuela, Brazil, Colombia, Germany, France, Belgium, England, Spain, Swiss, north eastern Italy, Romania, Serbia, Malta, Libya, Tunisia, Lebanon, South Africa, Namibia and Australia.

Calabrian 'Ndrangheta: The ‘Ndrangheta, located in Calabria, has about 5.000 “made members” and 50.000 “associates”; it has a strong presence in north eastern Italy, Australia and Canada, but it’s present also in United States, Colombia, Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Germany, France, Belgium, Swiss, Holland, Spain, Portugal, Czech Republic, Turkey, Morocco and Thailand.

Neapolitan Camorra: The Camorra, located in Campania, with about 8.000 “made members” and 80.000 “associates”, has branches especially in United States, Argentina, Brazil, Germany, Spain, France, England, north eastern Italy, Romania, Poland, Serbia and Australia.

Apulian Sacra Corona Unita: Sacra Corona Unita, located in Puglia, with about 2.000 “made members” and 20.000 “associates”, has branches in north eastern Italy, Greece, Serbia, Albania and United States.

For the record, Cosa Nostra and 'Ndrangheta have personal bidders in Colombia who purchase the cocaine for them, and so far they are the major traffickers into Canada and Europe for Cocaine. Also, recently the Mafia was busted in an arms dealing ring that would've ended up with over 100,000 Ak-47s being dealt into Iraq.
